What the Bible Says About Joy
Joy isn’t just a fleeting emotion—it’s a powerful, spiritual reality deeply rooted in God. The Bible says, “The joy of the Lord is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10). That means joy isn’t based on your circumstances but on Yahweh’s presence and promises.
In Psalm 16:11, we read, “In Your presence is fullness of joy.” True joy comes not from possessions, achievements, or even people—but from walking closely with God. It’s a fruit of the Spirit, a reflection of a heart fully alive in Christ.
Even in trials, the Bible urges us to “count it all joy” (James 1:2), because God is working something greater in us.
Joy is not a luxury—it’s your birthright as a believer. It heals, strengthens, and overflows to others.
So if you’re searching for lasting joy, stop chasing the world and start leaning into God. That’s where real joy begins.
