Levy Abad Jr. wrote this song as requested by Fr. Dante Camingawan, IFI, to be a part of the centennial celebration of the Iglesia Filipina Independiente. The revolutionaries of 1896 in Laguna, particularly in Pagsanjan and its surrounding towns, inspired him to write this song. He hopes that this song will give tribute and remind us of the heroism of Col. Francisco Abad, Cayetano Abad, Mariano & Santiago Crisostomo and Pacifico Abad (pioneer of Protestantism in Laguna, particularly in Paete, San Pablo and Pagsanjan during the time of Dr. Eugene Snook) and the peasantry who joined the revolution from which social class, Francisco, Cayetano and Pacifico came from.
