O God In heaven,
who rules over the face of the earth,
God peerless and unsurpassed
in goodness and wisdom
and wellspring of knowledge

Truly, Father you are,
of those abjectly orphaned.
Eternal Father,
merciful, protective
of humans formed of earth and dust.

O God, merciful Father,
grant us the ability
to sing the praises
of the passion, pain, and distress
of thine most beloved Son.
