While being pursued by gunmen, Jonas reached a remote village. He was shot and found unconscious by Mr. Nando, who treated his wounds. Since Jonas was still recovering, Nando prevented him from leaving. When Jonas learned about Nando's sick child, he offered to help by using his limited medical knowledge to find a cure. Jonas concocted an herbal medicine that made the other children in the village feel better.

He then discovered mosquitoes were causing illnesses in the village. Together with the villagers, Jonas cleaned the entire area and planted mosquito-repelling plants. Nando wanted Jonas to teach them more about medicinal plants, so Jonas extended his stay.

Jonas revealed to Nando that he had declined a huge bribe to formulate illegal drugs, which is why gunmen were after him. Linda told her husband Oscar about their daughter's illness, so Oscar rushed home. Stopping at the store for snacks, Oscar accidentally spotted Jonas and pointed a gun at him. Mr. Nando stopped Oscar and explained how Jonas had selflessly helped the village. Linda ran up shouting that Jonas had treated their daughter. Oscar gave Jonas instructions to evade the gunmen.

Nando believed Jonas was a blessing because he feared God and always chose the right path.
