This string of songs by The CompanY were arranged by Maestro / Kuyang , Arnel De Pano. Kuyang Arnel first asked permission from The CompanY’s music and artistic director, Moy Ortiz, and he said yes so Kuyang can arrange this tribute medley. The reason behind asking permission is RESPECT and RECOGNITION of the composer’s intellectual property, after all, these songs are The CompanY’s. On a personal note, I felt that it’s high time time and an opportune moment (after 20 years) to give the group this well-deserved homage. These songs were composed by M, Moy Ortiz, music icon / dear friend - Babsie Molina, with lyrics by our great friend and prolific poetess - Edith Gallardo. “M, B, Dith, Maraming maraming salamat, at napakalaking bahagi kayo ng tagumpay ng mga awiting ito ng The CompanY.” I shared with Moy that I was gonna sing the songs of The CompanY and he answered back, “Ben, keep singing the songs”, Thank you M! Just a little trivia, Kuyang Maestro Arnel De Pano, his wife - Amanda “Ganda Sis” De Pano Y Avena, Moy Ortiz, Annie Quintos, and the rest of the original members of The CompanY (c. 1985) were all choirmates at the Ateneo Glee Club under DrJoel Navarro, thus the great bond of friendship and shared passion in music amongst them. Thank you Kuyang, for arranging these songs magnificently, there were a lot of “senti” moments when I was performing this medley.

It was an awesome feeling and an opportunity to be able to share these songs with the congregation of KFUMC. Thanks to the very receptive KFUMC congregation for singing along. Amanda ganda sis @Amy De Pano, thank you so much for filming the whole segment of this concert. To GOD be the glory!
