NOT ALL THE TRUTH IS WRITTEN IN THE BIBLE
Everything written in the Bible is true, but there are many truths that are not contained in it. The bible itself said that many things that Christ did were not written down and even the whole world could not contain all of his works. When he ascended to heaven, he left no book, but the Church according to Matthew chapter 16 verse 18. And this Church is the pillar and foundation of truth according to 1 Timothy chapter 3 verse 15.
There is much debate as to what the true basis of truth is. There is no verse in the Bible that says that the pillar of truth is only the bible. In fact, this Christian bible was only created in the fourth century. If this is the only guide to the truth, how about the first century to the third century? Early Christians continued to teach the teachings of Christ even before the Bible was created.
Because The apostles and their disciples never held the Christian Bible. In the Catholic Church, there are three sources of truth: Sacred Scripture, Tradition, and the Magisterium. In fact, this Bible of ours was formed because of the tradition that the apostles passed on to their successors, the bishops. The process of deciding or canonizing which books should be included and which should not come from the authority of the Magisterium. It was the bishops who decided what book was included in the New Testament, not the Bible that said this Book of Revelation should be included in the Bible.
This shows the connection between truth and the history of faith. Knowing this history is important to understanding the true biblical context.
