370 years old, 600+ arcade buildings, and a tram whose stops are named after the Paris Hotel and San Francisco — because that’s where the money came from. Two rival families built this whole town with it, each trying to out-do the other. That’s why it looks like this.
I rode the vintage tram slowly through the arcades, took a wooden boat down the canal, and spent the afternoon catching the shows — the street theatre outside, then the indoor performance. Then it got dark, and the Fire Show started over the water.
