We are Shocked by SIARGAO after 2 years

This island holds a really special place in our hearts, because this is where our love story started. But there's been a lot of news about Siargao lately about a specific type of tourist coming to the island — and I'm not going to voice a political opinion on this channel. I support the locals and I support the Filipinos, and that's all you need to know.

So instead of chasing tourist spots we've already seen, we slowed the whole trip down. A run to the local market in General Luna to see whether prices have really changed since the new market was built. A slow brunch at Siago Beach Resort, right on the beach. Cooking sinigang na baboy from scratch at Villa Kali, including the salt-and-pepper fried pork trick I always do before it goes in the pot. A full tour of the Villa Kali penthouse, where we stayed in General Luna. And on our last day, a sunset session at the famous Malinao Skate Road.

The most important thing I've ever said on this vlog: everything you see on television, on mainstream media, in print or on social media — do not believe it until you've made your own opinion by getting your boots on the ground. Don't let anyone tell you what a country, a nationality or a race is like until you've been there yourself. Support local, as much as you can and for as long as you can. Before you go to Bali, come to Siargao.
